BRIEF BACKGROUND
Founded in 2013, the Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia Imagem Cardiovascular (ABC Imagem Cardiovascular) is the official publication of the Cardiovascular Imaging Department of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology and succeeds the former Revista Brasileira de Ecocardiografia.
OPEN ACCESS
This journal follows the Open Access model, providing unrestricted online access (including financial restrictions) to all scientific articles published by the journal.
Open access refers to the condition in which the copyright holder of an academic work grants usage rights to third parties through an open license (Creative Commons Attribution, CC-BY), allowing immediate free access to the work and permitting any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose.
OPEN SCIENCE COMPLIANCE
The term open science refers to a model of scientific practice aligned with digital advancements, which promotes the sharing of information through networks, as opposed to the traditional closed research model conducted in laboratories.
Open science practices involve the publication of research data, acceleration of editorial and communication processes through continuous article publication and the adoption of preprints, increased transparency in peer review and communication workflows, and the pursuit of broader systems for evaluating articles and journals.
Our editorial policy adheres to the principles of Open Science in its research communication practices, and ABC Imagem Cardiovascular follows the Gold Open Science model.

ETHICS IN PUBLICATION
ABC Imagem Cardiovascular follows ethical and accountability standards in scientific communication as recommended by national and international organizations, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Council of Science Editors (CSE), Equator Network, International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the SciELO Guide for Good Practices to Strengthen Ethics in Scientific Publication.

FOCUS AND SCOPE
The journal aims to publish high-quality material, both scientific and clinical, from all areas of cardiovascular imaging, including echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, and nuclear imaging.
The following types of articles are considered for publication: original research articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, cardiovascular imaging, case reports, reviews, viewpoints, brief communications, editorials, mini-editorials, and letters to the editor.
