The Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia Imagem Cardiovascular (ABC Imagem Cardiovascular), a part of the ABC Family of journals in Cardiovascular Sciences, announces the release of the call Chief Editor selection. This strategic role plays a vital part in the consolidation and advancement of the journal, aiming to become a benchmark of excellence in Latin America.

The ABC Cardiovascular Imaging journal is the official publication of the Department of Cardiovascular Imaging (Departamento de Imagem Cardiovascular – DIC), with its primary focus on disseminating and promoting research in the areas of cardiovascular imaging, including echocardiography, magnetic resonance, computed tomography, and nuclear imaging, both nationally and internationally. Published quarterly in Portuguese and English, the journal ensures scientific rigor through peer reviews conducted by esteemed researchers from Brazil and abroad.

 

Chief Editor Profile

The Chief Editor will play a pivotal role in the editorial strategy, guiding the journal toward excellence and global recognition. Prerequisites for applying to this position include diverse experience and skills, such as:

• SBC membership for over 10 years and a Cardiology Specialist Title.
• Strong academic background in the cardiovascular field, including a Doctoral Degree.
• Comprehensive knowledge of recent trends and advances in cardiovascular medicine.
• Proven skills in leadership, writing, and reviewing scientific articles.
• Proficiency in computer science and new communication technologies.
• Availability of time for the responsibilities associated with the position.

 

Application and Evaluation Process

The application period will run from November 20 to November 30, 2023, through the electronic form available at https://cardiol.typeform.com/to/psm4Yeqk. Candidates must present a management project, a link to their Lattes curriculum, and proof of reviewing scientific journals.

Approved applications will be announced by December 4, 2023, on the journal’s website. The interview, involving an oral presentation and discussion with the committee, is scheduled for December 7, 2023. The final result will be announced on December 11, 2023.

 

Remuneration and Transition Period

The selected Chief Editor will receive a monthly remuneration of R$ 2,000.00, with no projected adjustments. Additionally, there will be a three-month transition period for integration and commencement of responsibilities.
