ABC Imagem Cardiovascular accepts manuscripts previously published on preprint platforms. During submission, authors must provide the server and the publication link of the preprint. If an author wishes to deposit a manuscript under peer review at ABC Cardiol in a preprint server, they must inform the journal via email at abcimaging@cardiol.br.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

ABC Imagem Cardiovascular uses a double-blind peer review system, meaning reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers. The review workflow, timelines, and decision types are detailed in the Instructions for Authors.

The final version of the article published in the journal includes the name of the editor responsible for the peer review.

 

OPEN DATA

Authors are encouraged to make all content (data, program codes, and other materials) underlying the manuscript available at or before publication. Exceptions are allowed for legal or ethical reasons. This practice aims to facilitate manuscript evaluation and, if approved, promote preservation, reuse, and reproducibility of research.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Authors must disclose the use of generative AI in scientific writing during article submission. The ethical guidelines for authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher regarding the use of generative AI are detailed in the Ethics Policy available on the journal’s website. FEE POLICY

The authors of ABC Imagem Cardiovascular are exempt from any fees, including submission, translation, or publication fees.

The Ethics Policy outlines the duties of authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher. In cases of misconduct, the journal adheres to the Guidelines on Best Practices for Strengthening Ethics in Scientific Publication as well as guidelines for errata and retraction publication.

 ABC Imagem Cardiovascular uses iThenticate software to verify the originality of submitted content. All manuscripts are checked before the final decision.

 

SEX AND GENDER ISSUES

The editorial board of ABC Imagem Cardiovascular and the authors publishing in the journal are encouraged to follow the Sex and Gender Equity in Research (SAGER) guidelines. These guidelines recommend reporting sex and gender considerations in study design, data analysis, results, and interpretation.

Additionally, ABC Imagem Cardiovascular promotes gender equity within its editorial board.
